First Edition of Bradbury’s THE GOLDEN APPLES OF THE SUN (1953). Beautifully signed and dated, with an additional drawing of a spooky goblin. While Bradbury’s signature is ANYTHING but rare (he was a generous signer even in his advanced years), copies with original drawings like this are always more desired by collectors. After his stroke, Bradbury signed almost exclusively in sharpie, and signing was such a labor that it often took more than a minute to sign his name. He was a gentleman, usually full of humor and good cheer; meeting him at an event we organized some years ago was one of the best moments of my life, and the world is a poorer place without him.
